WELLBEING PROGRAMS

At Singleton Family Support we encourage participation in experiences that give enjoyment and enhance feelings of connection and wellbeing. Programs that combine physical and mental stimulation though exercise, enjoyment and socialisation are proven to enhance personal wellbeing. When our wellbeing improves, so does our self-worth, confidence, relationships and resilience.

Walking 4 Wellbeing

W4W is a weekly social walking group for individuals and families. Participants meet for an hour walk and at the end practice a variety of positive psychology techniques. These techniques include gratitude practices, mindfulness, positive affirmations and breathing exercises. 

Strut!

Strut! is a dance program for women. Participants meet weekly for 5 weeks to experience movement and dance routines to empower self-esteem.  The program aims to increase physical activity, promote healthy body image and improve wellbeing through fun and women supporting and encouraging each other.

Community Yoga

Community Yoga involves  gentle yoga practices and mindful meditation techniques. Sessions are available in the school term at Singleton Family Support’s beautiful backyard in good weather. Yoga is a holistic and mindful practice that includes stretching movements, conscious breathing and meditation for relaxation and calming busy minds.

ArTConnecT

ArTConnect is an art group for participants of the Reclaiming My Place Program to move onto further develop creative skills and social connections. Phillipa Cullen, a local artist facilitates the group for 8 weeks each school term.
